Made In Broussard, LA

If you have ever met my dad, then you will understand why I saw fit to post something like this on my blog. Pictured above is seemingly a plant in a small black pot. If that is what you initially perceived, you are almost correct. The story goes as such, my dad bought my mom this plant and the pot in which it came in was constantly being blown over on the front porch of their house. My dad decided to switch to the south porch, as it was much more wind resistant. In the plants travel to the south side porch, the plant was dropped and subsequently, the pot broke. So my dad, in all his genius, decided to make a home made pot. What is pictured is as follows: The wrapping of the lower portion of the plant, above the stand, is electrical tape, yes electrical tape...how genius you ask? The actual stand is an old tractor wheel hub spray painted black. My father was very proud of this contraption and I promised him I would display it online. So I hope you have enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed hearing the story of how it was made. Thanks for reading.

Internet Was Down

With the age of technology advancing everyday, my wife detected an internet outage before even turning on the computer. She called me saying the internet was down, no worries, but without hesitation I asked, "did you try reseting the network settings?" she said no that instead she realized she hadn't received an email notification from Facebook in a while and suspected the internet was down. I called the company and sure enough, our internet was indeed not working. Amazing what we rely upon these days for information. It was a comical situation. In fact, I am smiling while typing this.

My Wife as Kim Kardashian

So, my wife has an obsession with Kim Kardashian, I'm no Reggie Bush, but she is hot. As we were scrolling through pics of my wife from her trip to Reno, NV she came across a startling image that reminded her of a photo she had seen on the premier of the infamous TV series "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" which I don't care to do as I find their show shallow and pedantic. After some quick Googling, and I do mean quick, a phot was found. Then another, which I have posted as well. It's very interesting to see these photos side by side. We had a great time laughing at the similarities betwixt her and Kim Kardashian. It further proves the theory that everyone has a twin. I think I will try to find my twin one day too.

P.S. The matching dresses were completely coincidental. That was the most hilarious part.

My Wife's New Car

So after much deliberation I convinced my wife that buying a new car was the best investment for us at this time. She agreed and we went on the hunt for the best available option for our small family. After much research, we arrived at Jackie Edgar Ford in Breaux Bridge and settled on this exquisite Ford Edge. It's been great so far. It has a brilliant ride with phenomenal pick up, and a mind blowing 24 mpg's. That's well impressive for an SUV, or in this case a crossover SUV. The process was painless and the guys at Jackie Edgar were more than ready and willing to help with purchase. Either things were very slow, or I was just super important...the world may never know. I am very excited about our new ride, and my wife loves me for another day. Picture of the customizing to come accordingly. I would like to go a little darker on the tint> I darkened the windows in this pic to see what it would look like, I like the darker look. There will also be a DVD player for the little one for our weekend trips, and Sirius Satellite Radio will be installed most likely next week. Also, I am putting in a leather package as the car was in my price range without the leather, I figured I can add it later.

Ice and Easy

I have, as of recent, become ever so infatuated with this sport called Curling. It's premise is most interesting in that it incorporates Chess, Bowling, Pool, and Baseball. I realized that it has been a part of the Winter Olympics since 1992, but saw it for the first time in 2005. Then I didn't really understand the concept of the sport, but after some research the other night I have come to love the game of Curling. I hope to one day have the pleasure of attempting the methodical steps of Curling. It seems so poised and prim. Hmm! Like a sport for Engineers...

Exist Within Yourself

Exist within your sexuality for Freud said that the sexual self is the
essential self. Who you are when your fuckin is who you are in your
soul. The adoration of the Jonas brothers chastity rings and virginity
may in fact be a marketing ploy utilizing the theories of Michelle
Foucault who said that in Victorian society, the repression of
sexuality was just another way of bringing sexuality to the forefront
of our consciousnesses. It's a cynical marketing technique.

Oakley Jawbone Retina Burn Asian Fit

They're finally in. I have been eying these glasses since I first saw them in the Tour De France 2009. It was impossible not to witness these brilliant spectacles every time the Human Missile, the man from the Isle of Man Mark Cavendish, crossed the finish line with amazing speed and directed attention to his Green Jersey glasses Oakley had graciously made for him. These particular glasses, not this color, were the most popular worn glasses in any Tour De France ever.

On a more personal note, they are extremely light weight, weighing in at a miniscule 8oz. They feel great on the face, wrapping delicately around the top of the ears. Quite possibly one of the best sets of glasses I have ever owned so far. You can customize your own pair on Oakleys website. When I first saw these glasses they were in this color scheme, lime green and black and I was instantly drawn to them. The vented lenses offer breath ability when in rigorous training sequences. Lens wont fog up if they have room to ventilate, so that's an added bonus. The Jawbone name comes from the technology that keeps the lenses in place as pictured here. Super cool glasses if for nothing else than just to play with.

My Road ID

The Road ID bracelet finally came in. I'm very excited to finally be a
part of this growing community raising awareness of the dangers that
have come with our society. It's a perfect fit after I cut a few links
out. Happy excersizing.

1939 Church Going

Was having lunch at my Grandmother's today. I was questioning how travel was accommodated to her family growing up as a child, and she pulled out this photo of a church service being held in 1939. I thought it was the coolest thing to see. I hope you guys can see this image pretty clearly. It's quite interesting to think how far we have come in 70 years. Imagine what the next 70 years will hold. Perhaps one day my daughter will find a picture of all of our outdated cars and post on her holographic 3D blog about how ancient and dated her old man's travel accommodations were.

Commercials in 2010

Sitting watching the tele with the fam, and a lawyers accident
insurance commercial came on. The opening of the commercial starts by
saying, "Paid dramatization testimonials.". That should read, "Pure
lies". Just my thoughts.

How To Look Sexy In Black & White Attire

It's all in the location of purchase and poise and pose. In this
instance, I chose a more casual look from Frank Camalo over at F
Camalo's. The jacket is a crushe velvet smokers sports coat by Mabro,
the shirt is black and white polka dot with French cuffs by Ike Behar,
the tie, compliments of Canali; jeans are Garduer cashmere cotton
blend an the shoes are geniun python by Donald Pliner. Fashions fade,
but style is eternal, no truer statement ever spoken. So look, learn,
absorb, and immulate. No one can or will do it better. Special thanks
to Jeremy Zenon for his help and support in establishing my theme. We
teetered back and forth over slacks or jeans and thought, in the end,
the jeans brought something new and different to the table. Only the
night will tell how successful it is. But if how I feel is any
indication of the outcome, then the world is in for something they
have never seen before.

The Perfect Day

Woke up this morning to what is bound to be the most perfect day of
the year. After a much needed bike fitting with Mark Miller of
Precision Bikes I figured no better time than now to get on the rig
and hit the pavement south to Lake Fausse Point. Winds were out of the
south so I was glad to be heading south first get a good boost for the
return home. Rode a solid 20 miles and felt great. Trying this new
dietary supplement called Vespa. This stuff is the bee knees, more
literally it's actually wasp extract, but you know what I mean! This
stuff is awesome. Well the day is getting even better with LHS first
playoff game of the season against Zachary. Wish em luck. Post to you
later.

How To Start The Weekend With A Bang

First, get off of work and drive to the destination of your choice.
Upon closely arriving at that location, ignore the missing stop sign
on your right and drive straight into on coming traffic. You will get
an immediate sense of rigidity in your body, time will slow down as
rigamortis temporarily settles in. The ensuing loud smashing sound and
jarring of your vehicle and body will be a direct reflection of
successful start to your weekend with a bang! If you fail to meet any of these
steps, you will not have started your weekend with a bang. Steps may
be added to achieve this momentous accalade, but these are indeed the
minimum requirements.

For a smashing start, use someone elses vehicle. For this
demonstration, I used my wife's car. Now that you have all the
information necessary, all that is left is to go out and start your
weekend off right.

Cheers!

Desoto Polypro Thermal Hoodie

This is a new style of Desoto's great Polypro Jersey. New features
include the speed skater style hoodie and thumb tabs (my favorite
features), two angled side pockets, and contrast flatstitch seems.

It is made of Polyolefin, a new generation of polypropelyne. It is the
ultimate fabric to use as a first-layer for any cold weather activity.
It not only keeps you warm, it is odor resistant and has moisture
transfer properties that move moisture away from the skin to the
surface of the fabric where it evaporates.

I ran 6 last night with it on, fully hooded, in the rain, and when I
got home the jersey was damp but my skin was dry. My absolute favorite
top so far.

Youth in Training

She's had an obsession with guitars for quite some time. She's better
than me already.
