LSU Party Tray

I'm a little late in posting this, but I am the proprietor of the Cajun Party Tray, I have these trays in an array of colours, the most common being this LSU striped edition. Please contact me at Xularite@gmail.com if you are interested in purchasing some, if you know me personally, you may call or text me directly for orders. I have+ of these, also I have one that is brown and green camouflage striped which is also really nice, but in lieu of the game this weekend I thought this was more relative post.

The tray itself measure's 18" in length, 6.25" at its widest point, and 2.75" tall. It holds 3 lbs. of crawfish, great for vegetable trays, shrimp platters, french fry trays, or even poboy trays. The recessed whole is great for dipping sauce, but ironically it also comfortably fits a long neck bottle beer and a can.
$4 each

Wanna Free Run With Me

I have been a big fan of this free running craze, or Parkour as it is also called. I came across this video today headlining the opening of the very first Parkour or FreeRun training facility ever opened. The ever changing dynamics of the "see a need fill it" motto that Mark Zucherberg has made so popular to the preservation of personal hobbies is made more effervescent with the growth of multiculturalism. This is an amazing sport. Enjoy!

Dayton Marze Signs with Blue Jays

Dayton Marze
Approximately one month ago we hired a young man here at Seatrax Marine Cranes by the name of Dayton Marze. Dayton is a wonderfully intelligent and athletically sound individual with quite the story behind him. Dayton is/was the closing Pitcher for University of Louisiana at Lafayette for the past two years, with an amazing record to boot. Upon my interaction with Dayton I found out he was signing a contract to play baseball with the Toronto Blue Jays and was leaving for training camp in March. Taken back by his poise and nonchalance in this statement, I found this staggering 21 year old was more mature than his youthful exuberance lead on. Drafted by the Blue Jays in the 14th round, 426th overall, Dayton was the #39 best prospect for the Jays in the Jays Journal top prospects and picks. He signed his contract with a guaranteed paid education and a cost of $112,500. You can read his entire article here. All of his stats and accolades are listed there. A very well written article complimenting and accentuating the greatness Dayton has brought to the forefront of ULL's success and his own personal success. Although my words in this article and meant to promote the talents and support we here in Lafayette should have for a local going Pro, don't be mislead, Dayton is quite the character. He's a thrill junkie, no other ways to describe him, I will spare the details of some the stories he's shared with me suffice it to say, he would find himself in comfortable company with the likes of Steve-O and Johnny Knoxville in an episode of Jack Ass.

Saints Oust the Rams 31-13

I had the pleasure of attending the saints game last night with my boss, his buddy Tim and a good client and friend Mike. We sat in section 134 at the field entrance/exit for the saints. At one point I was able to reach down and touch the helmets of the players as they entered the field. It was amazing. The atmosphere was tremendous. It's easy to see how people can get addicted to this lifestyle of game going. I had a wonderfully exciting experience, to top it off, the Saints won pretty handily. Another cool point is, for the New Orleans Rock & Roll Half Marathon, if I use the coupon code "saints" I will get a discount of however many points the Saints won by. So if I register now, I will get $18 discount off of my registration. Pretty cool. I researched this for other cities that host a Rock & Roll event, and Dallas only gives a max of $9 credit. HAHAHAHA!!!!

Breesus, Sportsman of the Year 2010

Indeed a well deserved titled for a most deserved individual. I can't say that I am surprised at this accolade awarded to such a leader and inspirational figure. Although I am not a huge American Football fan, I do respect the athleticism of the industry and furthermore the accomplishments of a team such as the Saints, especially in lieu of their most recent troubles i.e. Hurricane Katrina. The full article is here.

Congrats to Drew Brees and the Saints for a great post Super Bowl season and a clear road to another Championship.

Dooley Thinks His Vols are Like Germans in WWII

Tennessee coach Derek Dooley on Monday compared his young, inexperienced team's struggles to that of the German forces during the Allies' invasion of Normandy during World War II.

"Right now we're like the Germans in World War II," Dooley said. "Here comes the boats, they're coming. You have the binoculars, and it's like, 'Oh, my God, the invasion is coming."

I'm gonna go with... no, not quite like the invasion of Normandy Dooley, not quite at all.

Weekend Run

I am training for the 1/2 Marathon in San Antonio in November. I am bib #577 for the race and have been a very strict run regime to accomplish a sub 2 hr half. This past sunday I ran 9.2 miles ( I was only scheduled to run 8 but my GPS was a little confused by my route I guess) and my times were as follows:

Mile 1 - 8:52
Mile 2 - 8:45
Mile 3 - 10:17 (hills)
Mile 4 - 11:38 (more hills)
Mile 5 - 10:09 (exiting hills)
Mile 6 - 11:26
Mile 7 - 10:24 (back in the hills)
Mile 8 - 7:59
Mile 9 - 8:15

I was pretty impressed with the times I posted. The unfortunate reality to this is I was in excruciating pain when I was done. Monday was a rest day and when I went out for a 5 mile run today for lunch, I made it .5 miles away and had to call someone to come get me. I my calves are so inflamed right now that it hurts to stand. I will take a couple days off and back to the grind this weekend. I will keep the run times posted as I accomplish them.

Schedule for this week is:
Monday: Rest/XT
Tuesday: 5 miles/10:30 split
Wednesday: 4 miles with 2 miles at HMP (half marathon pace) 9:09
Thursday: Rest/xt
Friday: 5 Miles/10:30
Saturday: Rest/XT
Sunday: 9 Miles 10:24 split

See you on the run.

Sorry It's Been A While

I haven't posted in quite some time due to the fact that my keyboard on my laptop is missing keys, the most important one being the space bar. Other than that, I have just been a bit lazy in my efforts to realize that anything interesting was happening enough to post about. But last night I was watching a few things on youtube and found 2 very interesting videos, and here they are.

This is a video from a Japanese baseball league. Aboslutely amazing catch. Talk about a pissed off batter.

And this one of an American AAA baseball team with a Japanese ball girl. I see a direct correlation to these videos....

थे गोद'स अरे स्मिलिंग

So this past weekend I had some time to sit back and think of what my summer will possibly hold. I got a promotion at my job last week so things were looking up from the earlier part of the year. I realized I would have more free time to indulge in to more activities with the new position and quickly realized, the World Cup started June 11 (very excited), the Tour De France started July 11 (super excited, what a way to transition) and the summer would end with the 2010 X Games. How amazing is this lineup? I couldn't have planned a better sports oriented summer if I were the guy who planned all the sport oriented venues. This is well exciting. The only way to make it better is if the summer started with Futbol and ended the same way.

Ice and Easy

I have, as of recent, become ever so infatuated with this sport called Curling. It's premise is most interesting in that it incorporates Chess, Bowling, Pool, and Baseball. I realized that it has been a part of the Winter Olympics since 1992, but saw it for the first time in 2005. Then I didn't really understand the concept of the sport, but after some research the other night I have come to love the game of Curling. I hope to one day have the pleasure of attempting the methodical steps of Curling. It seems so poised and prim. Hmm! Like a sport for Engineers...
